It was a sweltering Wednesday afternoon\u2026 the windows were rolled down. I weaved the van through mounting traffic toward Greenbank.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As I approached the scene, the screams of suffering children were so loud, it was deafening. A mother stranded in the school car park after hours. The disaster\u2026 not car battery failure. The kids\u2019 phones had gone flat. She stood over her open bonnet, unsure what to do.<\/span><\/p>\n

This mother of three had been picking her kids up from school, only to find her car wouldn\u2019t start. Appointments to make and things to do. She was stressed. The problem? Not the battery, but the alternator.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alternator issues mean that even if I had replaced her battery, she would have experienced another breakdown very soon. She would have needed a tow and a mechanic, but a mechanic I knew was nearby. I booked her in straight away, replaced her battery as a temporary solution and told her to follow me through Greenbank to the mechanic.<\/span><\/p>\n

She returned the battery once we arrived safely, the alternator was fixed within the afternoon and much to everyone\u2019s relief, they could go home.<\/span><\/p>\n
