As much as extreme cold can affect the life and durability of a battery, extreme heat can impair the inner workings of the battery as well, especially in our balmy Queensland summers.<\/p>\n<p>Battery deterioration isn&#8217;t always obvious, as it happens quite gradually as well &#8211; and it is never convenient to have your battery give up on you in the middle of a hot day. Remember that it&#8217;s also probably hotter inside your car, and under the bonnet than it is outside in the open air.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, just because your battery doesn&#8217;t fail in the summer doesn&#8217;t mean that you&#8217;re in the clear &#8211; internal warping, external corrosion and other factors can reduce battery efficiency and eventually kill the cell of a battery.&nbsp;If your car is often left in direct sunlight while parked, or you drive during the day for work frequently, this can affect the life of the battery as well.<\/p>\n<h3>How long will it take to test my battery?<\/h3>\n<p>It generally only takes under ten minutes to perform a battery check to industry standard, after which you can be on your way &#8211; if you find your battery is in a poor state, we can change it for you there and then &#8211; or we can arrange a time for you that is most suitable.
